No Pain, Gut

“Crush HIIT workouts at dawn! No pain, no gain!”

That’s what fitness gurus preach. The early sweat sessions to “boost metabolism” and “maximize results.”

You have bought into it for years. Hustle. Grind. Push harder.

But what if that’s not the only path?

Last week, I traded my chaotic routine for quiet walks and it changed everything.

Just slow down. Breathe. Let movement feel joyful.

My body craved the early sunlight, not sweat; calm, not cortisol.

Why force a routine that drains you?

For 7 days, I walked an average of 90 mins each morning, without any gadgets apart from my tracking watch. Just Birdsongs, Tuktuks and School buses dropping kids to schools.

The goal was to hit 10,000 steps. I learnt I do it in one and a half hours of slow pace walk.

With curiosity. Energy surged. Stress dissolved.

Such Small, consistent beats sporadic intensity.

Listening to your body isn’t lazy. It is actually a smart move.

Progress isn’t just reps, PRs, or sweat-drenched selfies. Sometimes, slowing down is the breakthrough you didn’t know you needed.

When did you last ignore the “rules” and trust yourself? What’s your “unconventional” daily ritual that just… works?
